Meter installs Dashboard
Project summary
Project: Legacy electrical sub-meter exchange to wireless meters (kWh)
Purpose
- Improve billing accuracy by creating a clean baseline at the point of meter exchange.
- Reduce estimated bills and follow-up disputes by enabling reliable wireless reads.
What was done
- Recorded an old meter close-out reading (Old Final Read) and installed a new wireless meter with a starting reading (New Start).
- Flagged priority replacements where applicable.
Current results (from the install log)
- 50 meters exchanged
- 30 installs started at 0.00 kWh (successful clean baseline)
- 20 installs started above 0.00 kWh (exceptions to review)
- Total non-zero starts across exceptions: 28.4 kWh
Why this is financially good
- Starting at 0.00 kWh prevents pre-install consumption being attributed to the wrong tenant, which reduces billing corrections and complaints.
- The exception list is small and measurable, so any opening-bill impact can be checked quickly.
Delivery-rate illustration (example bill)
- Using a delivery-only variable rate of $0.07174532/kWh, the current exception total (28.4 kWh) is approximately $2.04 of variable-charge exposure if not corrected.
